    As part of their research into post 16 options, all of our Year 10 students attended a taster day at Preston College. The students enjoyed the opportunity to explore possible options and subjects for when they leave. The students took part in a number of the practical subjects which ranged from Bricklaying and carpentry to Esports. The college staff and students were incredibly accommodating and able to provide practical support and guidance for students who are keen to explore what life beyond Hutton might look like.

  • Dove Cottage

    The English Department enjoyed a wonderful two days in the Lake District with Year 7 and 9. We visited Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth, enjoyed a visit to the museum and had a lovely walk in the sunshine before heading into Grasmere village.

    Thank you to all the staff at Dove Cottage for showing us the museum and house as well as taking us for a walk in the beautiful local area.

    County Athletics Results Jayden D 6th JB 100m Finley G 5th JB 1500m Kynan C 3rd JB Javlein Luke B 7th (In Heat) IB 100m Matt C 1st IB 1500m Championship Record Ben R 1st IB Discus Harry A 1st SB 400m Jacob F 2nd IB 400m Congratulations to all the Hutton students that competed at the Lancashire School Athletics Championships on Saturday. Hutton student’s secured 5 medals, 3 Golds and a Championship record. There was also a special presentation made to Matthew Clark as he was awarded The Sheila Markendale Sportsmanship Award. The Sheila Markendale Sportsmanship Award is presented annually to an athlete who has represented Lancashire Schools at an English Schools National Event.

  • School Trip to Normandy 2024

    Our year 8 pupils spent 3 nights in Normandy, France. The pupils and teachers stayed in Château de Chantereine, a residential school centre in upper Normandy. The programme was built around day trips and excursions to local attractions in Normandy and encouraged students to practice their French in a supportive environment to help them become more confident—and most importantly, have fun! Thank you to Mrs Buglass, Mrs Usher, Mrs McGregor, Mr Hulme and Mr Tynan for accompanying the boys on the trip.

    A group of our year 8 students had the opportunity to attend a CyberFirst workshop at Media City. CyberFirst helps young people discover the dynamic industry of cyber security, what a job in cyber can lead to, and will help explore their passion for technology.

  • Year 10 Work Experience

    We've recieved great feedback following our year 10 Work Experience week. Leyland Trucks have commented on 3 of our pupils who have worked in their Paccar Parts business,"They were all polite, friendly and interested in what was being shown to them. They are a credit to their parents and teachers".We thank everyone who has supported our Year 10's with their Work Experience this week and we look forward to Year 10 returning to school on Monday, to hear all about it.
